I wanted something a little unusual and retro with this buckle. Two points go through the leather like little spears to hold the belt in place instead of the more typical pins. This belt makes me think of some of my fathers 1970s belts he had in his belt draw.
I consider this a great buckle for jeans or less formal trousers. A belt a girlfriend would steal and wear it over a dress in the summer.
'Wabi Sabi' is a Japanese concept that values the little individual errors that are created when something is genuinely handmade. Every rustic, chic, handmade buckle is hand finished and therefore is unique and different to the previous. Belt straps are hand dyed resulting in a colour that is rich and complex due to the slightly uneven manner it reflects the light. My creations all contain this 'wabi sabi'.
Buckles come in 3 different versions:
- stirling silver
- solid brass with silver plate finish
- solid brass
